Assistant manager of Crystal Lodge Dive Center

1998 to present

I am Responsible for interactive encounters with manatees, overseeing the safety of passengers and manatees, also assuring federal and state laws are obeyed with regards to marine mammals and US Coast Guard regulations. at the same time creating a pleasant and enjoyable environment on board ship. Other responsibilities include maintenance of all dive shop boats and equipment, servicing regulators and ordering parts and stores.

 

Captain of the Research Vessel Dolphin Star

Summer of 2000 and 2001

As Captain of the R.V. Dolphin Star my responsibilities are to over see the safety of the therapists and instructors during work evolutions, as well as transporting the vessel from work area to work area. I also over see all maintenance activities on the Dolphin Star. I am responsible for maintaining good diplomatic relations with the Bahamian government and businesses in reference to ship's business.

 

Self Employed, Licensed Boat Captain

1990 to 1998

During this period I operated narrative nature tours on the Withlacoochee River, as well as yacht deliveries that included Cleveland, OH. to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. , Acapulco, Mexico to Costa Rica and throughout FL. Also I worked on the Research Vessel Suncoaster as relief captain and lead engineer.

Over the Road trucker for Rocor Inc.

1995 to 1996

As a driver for Rocor I drove refrigerated fright over all 48 contiguous states and Canada. I was responsible for loads valued over $300,000. I drove 100,000 miles with a perfect safety record ( no accident ). As a professional Driver it is imperative to be able make prudent unsupervised decisions. I left Rocor Inc. Due to my fathers health and remain high on the their rehire list.

 

Florida Power Corporation

1980 to 1990

I held several positions while employed with Florida Power including: Nuclear Fire Inspector responsible for the inspection of plant and site to assure state life safety codes, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and American Nuclear Insurers laws and standards were met. As Nuclear Safety Advisor, I was responsible for inspection of the plant and site for potential and unsafe work practices and correcting them. Also I conducted safety meetings, supplemented first aid in emergency situations and advised supervisors of OSHA laws. As sight medic I was responsible for the administration of emergency medical care and first aid as needed.

 

Self Employed, Fischer’s Marine Services

1978 to 1980

Boat delivery, maintenance and repair were the primary jobs of Fischer’s Marine Service. This included such services as mechanical repair on outboards, stern drive, inboard and diesel engines, fiberglass fabrications, woodwork, hull repairs and commercial SCUBA diving.
